I found this story strange when it first broke. The wiretap transcript indicate that the New England family was aware of DeLeo's presence and treated him like visiting royalty. That indicates the blessing of the New England family, perhaps a mutually profitable venture. I don't think the present family in New Englandis so weak it would allow the Colombo's to do business without some sort of "tax." Just my take on the whole thing
